Usborne Books & home-working in general

I've just signed up as an organiser, I am hoping to really make a go of it so I can give up my sales job. Everyone thinks I am nuts, as I earn a good wage, and what with the current state of the economy, apparently I should be grateful for a solid job!

Does anyone actually make a full time, or decent part time income from UBAH?

How long does it take to build yourself up to that?

Would you mind telling me your monthly income for the last three months, and also how long you have been working for UBAH. I'm just trying to get an idea of an average earning potential.

Are there any other GENUINE home working opportunities that could replace my current income??

I started in July - has been a disaster so far. If you have the time to go for the Flying Starts and manage to pull that off you might be OK. My 'recruiter' started at the beginning of the year, did hers, has about 20 people below her now and is earning almost as much as before she had her DS 2 yrs ago (or so she tells me!).

Personally I could only talk 2 of my friends into hosting parties, and one of them has phoned up today, having initially postponed it and now cancelled completely. Most of the people she invited were really iffy about spending money with the current economic climate, and lets face it, you can get lots of Usborne books cheaper elsewhere. Had another cancellation last week.

Have also done 3 toddler group events in the last few weeks - Total Sales Value £147.

I'm sure it must be do-able, they are great books, but I started from a position of being made redundant and if you are doing a job as well you will need to put in a hell of a lot of hard work to pull it off, but I hope you have lots more luck than I'm having!

I have to say that homeworking opportunities that pay as much as a full time job are like gold dust.

I have balanced in my mind that although I earn less (I work as an agent for Tish Tash Toys and 4 mornings a week at a preschool) not working full-time (I was a secondary school teacher) means that we don't need a second car, childcare or a new work wardrobe for me.

I have 2 friends - one doing Phoenix Cards and the other Tish Tash Toys. TBH I don't think either of them are making much (toys slightly more maybe). Definitely supplementary income rather than main income...
