I am 7 weeks pregnant but to complicate things I work for my b/f's small company and he has texted me dumping me and suggesting I find another job.
Things are getting awkward so I think I need to BUT if I start in another job what mat leave entltiements can I get?

Well, taking emotion aside, he can't sack you for not being the love of his life!

If you have been working for any 26 weeks in the 66 weeks before your baby is due (i.e. 6months before you fell pregnant up to when baby is due), you can claim Maternity Allowance. This is about £117 per week, or 90% of your earnings if lower than this. You submit your best 13 weeks of pay slips over the 66 week period. You can claim from jobcentreplus.

If you stick it out and continue in your current job(presuming you worked their prior to falling pregnant), you could leave after week 25 of pregnancy and your SMP would be protected.

Presumably he knows you are pregnant. What a charmer.

If you start a new job you won't be entitled to Statutory Maternity Pay but if you meet the conditions lou mentions you should be entitled to Maternity Allowance.

If possible I'd suggest staying where you are until week 25 at least, then you get SMP for 39 weeks even if you are no longer employed.

If you could reasonably claim your ex had sacked you or 'suggested you get a new job' because of your pregnancy, that's sex discrimination. You may want to consider telling him that as a way to get him off your back for the next few months.
