Anyone used PeoplePerHour.com or SetYourRate.com?

My DH has just used PPH for a programming project, and he was really pleased.

These both looks like interesting ways to either a) find projects for your services, or b) get some extra help for bits you can't/don't want to do

Just wondered if anyone had any experiences?

Did he use PPH to find a contractor to do the job, or did he find work thru it?

I looked at it to find bookkeeping work, but TBH it just becommes a "lowest bidder" exercise, where you can get work if you'll do the job for tuppence ha'penny an hour, but if you need to make a wage, this isn't the route to take.

He used it to find a contractor. Interestingly he didn't go for the lowest bid by any means, but for the person who was most qualified. I agree some of the bids are low though

Legacy. It's good to hear that your dh understands the value of experience.

Glad it worked out for him, maybe he'll be able to use the same developer again in the future?

Yes - he's already said he will. I think if more people start to use it then it might 'raise the bar' a bit - some of the profiles are a bit at the moment, but the people with +ve recommendations seem better.
