At what point do I stop being a keen candidate and start being a stalker?

A couple of weeks ago I was practically offered a job. I'm not looking for a job and am quite happy where I am but went to a client meeting and was asked by the client if I'd consider working for them. Its a very senior role and they spoke about me going onto their training programme and accelerated progression. I said I'd think about it and went back to them a few days later and said I'd be keen to talk about it further. I sent a follow up email to suggest arranging an appointment. nothing back. Week later I sent another - nothing back. Today I had a meeting with the client (and a colleague of mine) so sent an email this morning to the PA asking her whether the client wanted to meet or whether there had been a change of plan. nothing, Just been to the meeting - nothing!

do I give up? Its bizarre - (but a fab job with a big pay rise so don't want to chuck in the towel too easily)

I'd want to speak to the horse's head tbh rather than emailing the PA. Can you ring up and have a no-pressure chatty conversation to reaffirm your interestand ask if person wanted to take it further, if not no problem at all.

Just a thought but if this is in the world of finance or the city they may be pre-occupied with the current financial crisis.
