Going back to work soon, possibly beginning of November.

I will be paid monthly (end of), but when will I actually first get paid ??

If I work a month in hand does that mean I won't get paid until end of december ?

It depends on the payroll situation. In some places they won't set you up on the payroll until you've started so if you miss the payroll deadline then you'll have to wait until the end of the next month to be paid.

Go for the earliest start date you can and make sure you get your details sent through to payroll asap.

Right ok, thanks.

I am just really worried because although my rent and council tax will be paid for the first month (ie Nov), come the begining of December, I will have to pay both, but might not of been paid myself.

What does your contract say? It should stipulate when and how you are paid.

Haven't seen my contract yet.

My mum works in the same place so I have aksed her to try and find out, but she will probably forget.
