Do any of you run a shop?

Probably not the best idea right now but I am thinking of opening a shop selling maternity clothes. The area I am thinking of is a wealthy London suburb with lots of yummy mummys around with no where to shop for maternity clothes. I need to research set up costs before I delve further. If any of you own or run a shop could you advise on the type of costs I need to consider and how I get an idea of costs. I am thinking of rent, business rates, shop fit, staff, elec/water, stock, insurance. ANything else?

decent coat hangers

extra large dressing rooms

soicitors fees and survey costs when sorting out lease.

racks, rails and perspex or whatever for display.

business cards

remember public liability as well as contents and all that

bookkeeper if nescessary

loo rolls , worth making loo availble to customers.

remember to do press releases to get free advertising, a half page editorial in a local paper is great too.
