Wilf still has toxic colleagues... what to do?

Some of them are robots, some are confidence-sapping twats. Some don't believe in co-operation for the greater good.

I know I can't fix it. How do I look after myself while still striving for a better communal product? I am already spreaing myself too thin and I'm only back a month.

Communal product - eh?

I know. I sound like a tosser myself now.

Oh I just mean how does everyone else deal with dickheads at work who you still have to work with?

Ahhh....roite! With you now. I feel (and sound) like Dougal off Father Ted!

Wilf, ya know it's the same where ever you go. Tis a rare thing to find the perfect work place unless you form your own company and cherry pick your own staff.

I do know this much - the ONLY people in the whole world whose opinion matters to me are my DH and my children.

So when you're sitting at your desk, listening to and having to deal with the fuckwits, glance at a photo of your family and remind yourself what you're there for! Minimise and marginalise these eejits in your own mind.

Failing that, imagine them on the bog, straining to push out a rite big shit & then see if they bother you so much! . It works - don't ask me how or why, it just does!

Hi Doodle

I have been looking on the web for inspiration or tips or whatever on how to cope with a group of women who I supervise. I came in to the department about 18 months ago. I went in all full of beans like a lamb to the slaughter. They have all been there years, passed over for promotion, totally disgruntled and feeling hard done by (I have since come to realise why - they do feck all and moan about everything). For months they have been slowly wearing me down. I can honestly say that I have worked in all sorts of environments but I have never worked with such a group of bitter, negative, sour women. I have actually started to loathe them. It is like walking in to a nest of vipers everyday when I go to work. I have to talk myself into going in. I know its not personal, I have since heard that the two people in the job before me said it was hell.
Anyway, enough moaning. I could be here all night telling stories about them. Yours is the first bit of advice that was actually any use. I presume you are Irish. I laughed out loud (or broke me shite laughing in irish parlance)
I am not going to let the bitches of eastwick grind me down!
