advice needed on sickness/ssp

Ok ladies need some advice.
Monday I rang in sick as I had a severe headache which I thought was brought on from lack of sleep after a mild asthma attack early hours monday morning. Tuesday I went to the dr's as I was no better and he diagnosed a severe migraine and gave me some tablets. After still feeling worse I returned to the dr's today and he is unsure if it is sinusitis (sp!) but is treating me as if it is so now have antibiotics and nasal spray. He also has signed me off for the next 5 days as the headaches are very severe.

The thing is I think that this week will take me to the unpaid level of absence at work and I wanted to know if I could claim ssp as I cant really afford to lose that much money??

I normally wotk 16 hrs a week over 4 days and he signed me off as of today thus only affecting 2 days. The other two (yesterdat=y and monday) he said I could self certify.

Sorry for long post and thanks in advance x

Ps i have had 4 days off sinc September 07 2 at the same time and the other 2 separately.

See here for info about SSP, there is a 3 day 'waiting period' where you don't get anything, SSP kicks in on the 4th day.

So I wont get anything then? Sorry to sound stupid but I have had so many problems with my employers I want to make sure I get all the right info!!

You were off sick Monday Tuesday, today and one other day, yes? So you'll get 1 day SSP.

Yes,but he only signed me off as of today, does that still count? Thanks for your help too xx

Yes that's fine, you can sign yourself off for up to a week.
