Walked in on colleague in unisex work toilet and now mortified

There are unisex single cubicle toilets at work. I walked in on a male colleague who was sat on the loo looking at his phone. When we locked eyes I heard a splash as a poo hit the water. I quickly left, apologised etc. He also shouted out apologies. The locks on the toilet doors are a bit tricky. But see him all the time and both of us mortified!! Any tips on how to regain our working relationship?

Just pretend it never happened.

Ffs it is just a basic bodily function.

But report to the site team to fix the locks. That is appalling.

Sorry I know it’s awful OP but the splash of poo whilst making eye contact detail is 😂😂😂

Something to reminisce about at the Christmas do!

😂😂😂 I would just be relieved it wasn’t the other way round! Just treat him like normal and it will be forgotten.

I'd be mortified too but from a distance this is hilarious 😂

If the dooe is shut there is someone in there at our place, the locks are OK as it happens but it is an unwritten rule that you always leave the door ajar afterwards so no one has to rattle the handle and risk what happened to you.

Some people leave the doors unlocked on purpose cos they want to get caught.....

Unisex cubicles without locking doors and basins inside each one
are illegal in workplaces in the UK
(1992 Workplace H&S regulations)

Request that your employer redoes the signage to comply with the law
