I went to Hamleys toy store in London recently and bought a personalised CD for my daughter.

Every song had her name in it, they also do personalised alarm clocks and teddy bears which all sing songs with your childs name in them.

I thought this was a great idea and I really want to start up my own business doing this.

Then I found out some one else I know has already got one of these products. I thought this product was quite rare as I have not seen this around.

I would love to know if any of you have seen or bought this product?

If not would you consider buying this for your child?

I am not trying to sell to you, I am just looking for opions from mums before I spend money on my new venture.

Haven's seen anything like this but I would check first that it isn't patented or there aren't any exclusive distribution deals. When you say you want to 'do this', who exactly is it you want to do? make the products or import/distribute them?

I want to distribute the product. I have been in contact with the manufactor and they will sell me the software etc to set up my business.

I went to the BBC Summer Festival at the NEC. Someone there was selling this sort of thing but I can?t tell you much more than that as I didn?t take much note (I?m not their demographic - teenage kids!!) If you speak to the organisers they probably have contact details.

Is this a franchise?

marks and spencer did them for a while - don't know if they still do
