Any teachers feeling worn out but aiming to stay until pension age?

Any Teachers out there hanging on in there for next few years just get pension? I work full time , same school for 24 years and have worked out I can afford to leave at 65,
so only another 4 yrs to go ! Didn't start contributing until 2013 as sole breadwinner and simply couldn't afford contribtions. I am post menopausal , exhausted and find myself lagging behind others when picking up new initiatives , particularly those involving computing skills. Have a reasonable private pension from a job I did before teaching but life is soooo expensive so have number crunched and recognise I need to just keep going . Not the job it was tho. Any teachers out there in similar situation ? Does it help trying to switch off and ignore any negativity as you know there's light at the end of the tunnel?

Forced into burnout after 25 years. Retired at 60. Didn’t want to but management were out to get me because I was expensive and didn’t kowtow. Now on TP, working for union, volunteering for church and supply twice a week. Feel so well and happy but still bitter about how I was pushed out.

Yes, me. Used to love my job now i struggle to go in everyday but can't find anything that pays well enough to leave. I have a few more years to go than you. No advice on how to cope, hoping someone comes along with practical advice for us both. Good luck OP x

I left after 22 years in (primary) and my only regret is I didn't leave sooner. I came to the realisation that my MH and my own family were more important than anything else. No way I could have survived it until retirement age!
Now a tutor.

I'm only 48. Going to try to hang on until 60 and then pray there is something else I can do until I can collect my pension.
