Plain, stylish website needed

Ok, I need to create a website for my work - not an e-commerce one just for information.

I have registered the domain name with 1and1 but their templates for website building are HIDEOUS. Really naff photos and cheesy images. I want something much more professional, stylish and actually quite simple.

Are there any other online website building software services that are cheap and easy to use but with nicer templates?

Dumb question - once I've set up a site using the second one's templates, how do I actually load it onto 1and1?

(I really am hopeless at all this!)

I really like the moonfruit templates but don't want a moonfruit URL.....

Thanks Lapin - sorry I'm so dumb about this. Think I will go with Moonfruit then as cost is low and it sounds easier!

No worries, I do this for a living, no reason why you should know about it! Come back and yell for help if you get stuck.

Smalllapin - future incarnations could be miniature lapin, miniscule lapin, microscopic lapin?

nanolapin if I lose weight

I'm just mucking about for the "S clique" thread

mrshedge · 25/06/2008 18:03

Like nanolapin.
Oh I should be Mrsovergrownhedge if it's weight-related!

Hi

If you are still having problems, I am happy to design and host the site FOC.
Cheers

Wow Bravo that's such a kind offer. I've managed to get a good site up and running now though and am really happy with the design. Moonfruit was super easy to use and such a good recommendation Lapin.

You could try www.geekarama.co.uk - they are relatively inexpensive and very professional - did my site really well!
