i need some inspiration, my youngest starts school in august and i need a job.Ive been working as a childminder whilst hes been little but now i need a real job.

im a single parent so my chilcare is using afterschool care until 5.45.

my work background was originally hairdressing (long hours crap pay) nightshift in asda (great pay just no childcare) nursing auxiliary (no childcare for shifts)

i have done courses relevent to these jobs including a doula course but nothing thst will help me get another job

im unsure of what i want to do i just need to pay all the bills every month and not rely on people to look after me kids

does this job exist??

Have you thought about being a TA? Pay is a bit rubbish but you get all the school holidays off obviously! I went from childminding to TA with no formal child care qualifications.

a friend suggested that to me as well, its not really something i know a lot about to be honest.

can someone tell me the roles?

at childminding not being a "real" job!

I would have thought that now your youngest was starting school you could take on an extra child, boosting your income, and you souldn't need to pay for any holiday of after school childcare.

You seem to be keen to do another job, however, so I imagine childminding isn't the thing for you.

Sorry, I'm not sure the job you are looking for exists for you.

Hope someone else can help.

Roles differ from school to school, I work at a Primary school, the job description is to support statemented children with special needs. In reality most TA's support small groups of low ability children, mark homework, help with displays, a bit of everything really.

Sorry low ability children sounds so wrong now I've read it back, children who need extra support is how I wish I'd worded it

lynette - thats what i think the job doesnt exist!!!!!!

i dont want to continue childminding.

just dont know where to go but need to pull finger out now!!!!
