Work from home job - Can you please help me find one?

I am looking for a work from home job but I don’t know how to find one. I have A levels but no degree. I’m not really sure what would be available to me, maybe a call centre type job 🤔
I am on Indeed and work from home jobs never seem to come up. Are they like hens teeth to find?
If you have a work from home job, can I ask what you do?

In general the organisation I work for has 10,000 'office based' staff on paper, but another 10,000 in the rest of the org that aren't. I work in IT, though there are plenty of other departments, HR, finance etc.

My base location is home, though I do have a local office location listed on my contract. I've been there 3 times in 2 years and that's only because some other team members were there for the day. The main office location is 3 1/2 hour drive from me and I think I've been there twice! Once on my first day and once for a full team meeting. As a small team we are scattered around the country (9 of us).

WFH jobs are definitely out there.

I would be happy to try a call centre / customer support role.
In terms of my skills and experience I have worked for 10 years as a civil servant / admin officer in procurement and finance. I have also worked in the care sector and more recently in supermarket replenishment and picking online shopping orders.

I’ve been an office and facilities manager for years and now stepped over to the finance side of things and payroll - was never work from home until 2020 and then I went hybrid after that - I only go in 2 days (week now - sometimes more depending what’s happening

most people I know build up to more flexibility over time

Not sure call centre is the best pick for flexibility - toilet trips are timed in a lot of companies for example!

As people have already mentioned some charities offer fully remote roles because they cut the expense of having offices in big cities.

I think the customer service/call centre roles are the least flexible roles out there to do from home because you need to be sat in one place with your line in or answering emails that hit SLAs and KPIs.
I think you would be better finding a role you loved - maybe customer services and then see what they offer. You might also find working in supermarket is comparable pay wise and more flexible is terms of finding shifts that work for you. I think this is often the most overlooked thing when comparing retail jobs versus 9-5 jobs.
I've had working from home for years and no one gives you a role because you want to work from home, I had a hybrid job offer yesterday, I showed willing to come in to the office and also that I could be trusted to work from home.

The nhs have a lot of people working from home - mainly as hospitals needs a lot of clinical space and so they often offer wfh to people who do roles that don’t need to be onsite all the time.
Roles like appointment clerks, clinic scheduling, switchboard calls, typing, a lot of the HR/ Finance/ corporate teams also wfh but with most of these there is a requirement to come in sometimes to be with the teams unless you are say bank staff just typing letters.

Just to add too, people who don't WFH seem to have this perception that WFH gives you total flexibility. It really doesn't because you can miss out so much on face to face meetings. Personally I have just been through redundancy in a mainly wfh role and was really lonely without the support of my colleagues being around me.

Mine is too. Other than a mandatory christmas 'party' (team building and then getting drunk/eating together). I try my best to think up a great excuse every year as I hate it but always persuade myself that It's just one day and night of my life so not to be a killjoy...

My sister who works in the business department at Vodaphone is full time WFH as is the rest of her team.

I work in the civil service. Our department has been increased from WFH to 3 mandatory days in office now (rumour mill it is going up to 4 days soon).

Independent travel agent ✈️ allowed me to work whenever I want, wherever I want, it’s given me so much freedom, especially around the kids.

Parish councils - I have 3, soon to be 4 - all WFH and flexible, and I bring home almost 50k per year. I started doing this 8 years ago today and I love it.

Can you explain? You get paid for working on the PC? Ours are volunteer roles. Apart from the Clerk.
