ADHD and work - what sort of adjustments has your employer made?

I’ve recently hired a lady who has just told me she’s got ADHD. We’re putting an action plan together to make reasonable adjustments although some of the things she’s asked for are just not possible at the moment. For example she’s asked if we’d consider moving one of our key bits of software to a new platform as she can work better with that. This would be a big shift for multiple people so I’ve said that I might consider it for the future but it’s not possible now. She’s listed several other adjustments - all of which are possible.

Just wondering how this works in other places? If you have ADHD or ND, how does it impact you at work and what sort of adjustments has your employer made? I want to support her as best as I can - I think she’ll do a great job.

For me, my works flexible working policy is really helpful. I am most focused in the late afternoon and often still hyper focused into the early evening. I usually work 10.00 until 6.30 but not having that time pressure on starting helps enormously.

I can feel overwhelmed with a big task and it helps to have my manager check back in reguolarly on projects in case my focus goes elsewhere.

I hate noise in the office- I get a rage from listening to typing sounds some days or too much conversation- so working from home when I need to be more focused helps too.

i probably sound like a rubbish employee from that but I do work hard and over my hours when there are big things to get over the line. I'm also incredibly kind and endlessly patient if anyone makes a mistake or forgets how to do something and needs it explaining again because I know how working through things is a lot sometimes.
