Im hoping to start an apprenticeship in the NHS but I've just realised tgey want to see my maths and English GCSE certs from the 90s and I have absolutely no idea where they might be. Fanily breakups, house moves you name it. So I've applied to AQA for certified copy of results but I'm freaking out that
A they wont find them because its so old
B it will take too long.
If you've had to do it how long dod it take please?

Are you sure it was AQA in the 90s? I wouldn't remember which exam board I did for each subject.
I do remember there were different exam board to now though. SEG and MEG spring to mind.

Good luck! If they've taken your money I am sure it would be fine.

Well.it wasn't AQA it was MEG but they've been taken over by AQA so according to Chatgpt should have also taken on all their records

I looked into doing an apprenticeship with work, had the same issue as you with not having my certificates (apparently an English degree didn't trump an English GCSE),I was also MEG/SEG.

They did say you could take some English and Maths tests if you don't have proof of GCSE Maths and English.

They wouldnt accept a degree in the same subject?? Thats insane. It actually feels a but discriminatory. People who've moved around more or had less stability are way less likley to be able to provide them.

Do a Subject Access Request- there is a form on their website. They respond within 28 days (on the 28th day).
You have to give them as much information as you know so name at the time, school, subjects etc.
Ive done it myself and it doz work and is accepted as proof.

I had to get some from the 1980s from Pearson and they came really quickly. They were originally London Board O Levels.
( I found the originals about 2 days later…).
