Courses on how to run a business

I've been running my own business for 3 years now and I'm still confused with all the paperwork and basic things like bookkeeping. I've decided I could really do with doing some sort of course (preferably distance learning) on how to run a business. Anyone know of any?

Have you been in touch with local council/enterprise people? They seem to run quite a lot of courses/seminars.
On bookkeeping, I trained with Sage, very expensive tho!
I intend to attend HMRC's one day workshop on payroll as I use their software and do my own (tiny) payroll.
