To any of you who have had a few (or more) years off work and returned to work could you tell me what you do and how easy/difficult it was to get back into work?
Sounds a little one sided but I would really appreciate some poistive stories as there is much talk on here about finding work very difficult after a break. I only ask as I am probably going to take a few years out to look after DCS once my mat leave finishes this year. At the moment I have a professional job, I have a degree ad consider myself to be well educated. But the cost of childcare for 2 DCs is making returning to work pretty difficult. If I take a few years out I may not be able to return to my current field (not sure I want to anyway but thats a different story) so would be starting afresh. Ideally something that doesnt require years of retraining but could mean better earing potential in the future with promotions, etc (am thinking of project management at the moment). I also thought this thread may help inspire others in the same situation.
