The future of non clinical jobs in the NHS

I work as a Band 5 admin office manager and have been told there will be a freeze on all non clinical jobs in the NHS.

I want to progress but feel this has scuppered any hopes of promotion and I am trapped in my current post. I feel very demoralised.

Anyone else in the same position?

I am so sad that my secondment will end. It was a month away from being made permanent and had been signed off as part of a restructure which I fully expect to be pulled now. I’m really down about it and had worked so hard in the post

I was curious about this statement

• the need to maintain some core staff, such as recently delegated commissioning staff and, in the short term until further options are considered, continuing healthcare staff

it made me wonder what the long term plan for CHC is.
