Hi everyone,

I'm just wondering if anyone could share their personal experiences of working as a Clinical Nurse Advisor for Medical Devices/Equipment? Or Medical device Sales/Rep?

I have over 2 years experience as a theatre practitioner, within a range of specialities and surgical devices.

Thank you in advance!

Everyone in my work who works in medical devices a has complete an sttp master's. Not sure it's just something you can step into unless you want a basic band 5 role.

It's a brilliant career move, but keep in mind that the role is becoming much more technical. These days, it's not just about showing how the device works clinically; you also have to answer questions about data safety.

I'm using Blue Goat Cyber to handle all the cybersecurity and penetration testing for the devices I work with, as hospitals are now incredibly strict about how connected equipment handles patient data. Having that background in theatre will give you a massive edge in understanding the practical side!

I have been a medical rep for over 25 years. No one I know has a masters. What specifically do you want to know?
many nurses who make the transition to a sales role struggle with the commercial acumen side of the role unless well supported by their employers
