Company website said I have already applied for the position. It’s a different department!

I found a job listing for customer service role for an insurance company. I logged in onto the careers website. It says I already applied for the role. The thing is that this a different position. I applied for a job in travel insurance in Oct. Then got interview 10 days later. Obviously didn’t get the job.

This job is for home insurance. So website saying I have applied when I haven’t? Doubt they will contact me about this position.

Ofter you have to wait six months before reapplying to the same company for a different role, as not much would have changed to make you a better candidate. Generally your CV would be kept on file for six months and they would approach anyone they thought was suitable. ( I worked in call centre recruitment)

I couldn't find anything about waiting a certain time period or will be contact if still interested. Then I couldn't upload my new CV which has more relevant qualifications - did a remote course via Teams starting the week after the interview for 3 weeks.

I found an email address - emailed explaining why I am unable to reapply again and unable to put a new CV.
