Ive applied for two jobs, office based both 25 hours each, flexible. I am hoping to do half 9 till half 2 maybe then I can still do school run for DS1

Since working out money we will be worse off if I do these hours. Childcare for DS2 will be roughly £90 a week, we will get £70 off CTC towards that.

But on DH's earnings at the mo we get £100 made up from CTC, WTC and child benefit, so by the time we have pad out the extra £20 odd a week for child care we are no better off and will be around £20 shorter than what we are now... I keep asking is it worth it? Really.

I could I guess go back full time, but I also think full time at the moment would be too much, DS1 is 6 so would need more childcare for him after school...

I dont know what to do!!

MIL is a nanny and has offered to take DS2
too, other family have agreed and MIL said she wouldnt want payment, but I dont think thats fair on the other family, they are paying her £800 a month for care of 3 DC's full time then comes along my ds2 and she looks after him for nothing so I wouldnt feel right about it, although would help us out lots at the moment, we are just about back on track with our debts and we are also trying to plan our wedding.

so full time or part time I dont know

Has anyone gone back fulltime after being out of work for so long?

If he's only 1 it will be a few yrs before you qualify for free childcare, so you will be working at a loss for quite some time.

Ive sat down with DP tonight, hes just been offered a promotion in work so we wont be losing out and we are gonna be better off if I go back to work part time. I still want to be there for my boys as much as I can but I feel like I need to use my brain again, like Im being left behind whilst all my firends and family are off working if that makes any sense. Ill be earning roughly £180 a week before tax.

In all we will have around £3k coming in a month which will help us live comfortably. Now I just need to get the job
