Is it a good sign if a senior leader takes asks you to work on a project with them?

I've recently been asking for a mentor and expressing wanting to move up in my career. I explained to the senior leader after filling in an internal application that my LM has not been supportive and I would like to develop in myself. She gave me an opportunity to work with her on implementing resourcing and running a program along another junior colleague. Is this a good sign that I'll get promoted or is this just something to keep me occupied and fill my time. Today she introduced me to a very key person in the business and said make sure to introduce yourself well and sell yourself.

Well either a door has been opened for you, or they are looking for a fall guy to take the rap when the project goes tits up. Let's hope it's the former.
