Redundancy while pregnant

Does anyone know anything about this? My SIL is currently 6 months pregnant and has been told that her department will me moving to a different city and she will have the choice of moving after her mat leave or taking redundancy pay.

Is she entitled to maternity pay and redundancy or will they offer a special package as she is pregnant? She won't find out what they are offering until next week.

Cheers

She wont be treated any differently being pregnant so wont get a special package. She's still entitled to standard maternity pay and the redundancy package. The only difference is that she must be offered another job if there is one but sounds like the move means there isn't.

As long as she is still employed at 15 weeks before her due date she will get statutory maternity pay, but no reason to get anything special just because she's pregnant, no.

Thanks happymummy and flowerybeanbag. I think she would be best taking stat mat pay and the redundancy package, but we'll have to wait and see what they offer her.
