I am pleased because it has been a hard decision to come to, but there response has made me wonder am I really doing the right thing!

I got "are you sure, I have known you for 4 yrs and I would never have thought of you as not working". Its taken me months to make this decision. I am going back for 2 mths p/t then leaving and going back to college.

Oh no what if its the wrong thing to do? God life with kids is hard but not for all the reasons you think when your pregant. The mental turmoil is driving me nuts!!

I need word of leveling sanity please

If it's any consolation, that's exactly what I have done and doing. I had been in full-time employment for 8 years when I decided to take a career brake to raise my children. This career brake (just over 4 years, closer to 5!) is coming to an end this Autumn, when I plan to return to a previous employer via an agency.

I'm looking forward to returning to work with great intrepidation. Nevertheless, my dd starts reception in September and ds in starting at nursery in September. So far, I'm very pleased by my decision. I think it was the right one.

I too, did an Open University course whilst on my career break. I actually did a course completely unrelated to my career. It was really refreshing to have a taste of what alternatives are available.
