Unemployed, Offered a job but boss gives me the creeps

Hi all,

I am unemployed, have been for a week.
My partner and family are helping me financially until I get a new job.

At the moment, the jobs I’m qualified for are slim pickings.

I went for an interview a week ago and the bosses son was there and giving me the creeps the whole time. He was leering constantly, making suggestive comments and my gut was telling me he wasn’t safe.

Problem is, I got a call that he really likes me and wanted my personal number to arrange a second interview.
If I’m offered the job, I’d be working with him, alone in an office.

I want to take the job so I’m not relying on my family but my gut is telling me this guy is bad news and to not work with him.

What are your opinions?
Should I take the job regardless because it’s a job?
Or should I trust my gut and not put myself in a situation?

Don’t do it, sounds awful already. Do you feel safe sharing an office with this man?
there must be other jobs out there.

It's been a week. That job sounds dodgy. Apply for everything you can and find something else, even if just temporary. It's the Christmas period now so they'll be lots of temp jobs available.
Trust your gut feeling.

No do not do it!! You will be miserable, potentially unsafe and trapped until you can find something else and you will be in an awkward position explaining why you are looking for a new job so soon. People will judge you for it.
Trust me.

Listen to your gut. Don't take the job.

Don't take the job.

DO tell them why.

No, no, no. Listen to your gut!

It's only been a week. Keep looking!

What’s your skill set and experience? Many councils are understaffed in Environment Health, Housing, Planning Departments, including admin roles. Good and flexible working policies and part-time. Is that something that you’d be interested in? You could look for agency adverts for these positions, which would be a significantly higher hourly rate, which obviously has downsides, but could be an option?

Definitely look for something else - this is a good time of year and you’re bound to find something at least to tide you over.
