Career change to occupational or business psychology

Hi

I’ve got a teaching background, I’m in early 40s.

Just wondering if there are any business or occupational psychologists out there to tell me a bit about the job market?

It’s a long-standing interest of mine, I was considering the CIPD route into HR/employee relations but it seems that it would not be what I’d really like to do, I’m interested in organisational culture and dynamics more from a psychological perspective.

So, is the job market really competitive? It seems so judging from how little job adverts there are? I’m aware I’d have to have a degree and then Masters in business psychology but not too sure about the final stage, the doctoral stage where one has to manifest how they apply their skills in practice? I know this has to be done under a supervision but how does this work in practice?

Thank you in advance 🙏
