I’m looking at changing career from civil service to something else. Been there 5 years in graduate role.

I’ve got a 2:1 from an RG university in an arts subject. I’ve done reasonably well but don’t love it.

I’ve decided I want a career which allows you to get into a well paid role relatively quickly. My priorities are earning a high wage. I’m very much work to live. Happy to work long hours.

any suggestions?

That’s supposed to say ‘an industry’ not ‘an dusty’

sorry! Auto correct

What are your skills and what is your current role in the Civil Service?
Difficult to advise without knowing that.

What type of role have you been doing in the CS? Could you move into one of the big consultancies in a similar area? You could then at least use the knowledge and experience you've gained in the past 5years.

Id expect this question from a 10 year old

Sales in a SaaS org. Expect to be worked to the bone but the rewards can be massive.

Look at someone you admire in RL who earns a good wage and do what they do?

If it's about money there are a couple of routes. Get into a large corporation doing something like business development, data analyst, product development.

Or look at a growth sector and get into a small org that's growing. It would have been AI a few years ago. Ask chatgpt. If you tell it your skills and interests it will give you a list.

Don't go into marketing whatever you do. Useless for getting loads of money (believe me I know :))

Thanks for suggestions- I think one of the big consultancies would be most obvious move.

Will look into Saas sales - think that might be a good fit for me.
