Editor's Assistant Interview

Hi

Just wondered if anyone would have any last minute advice. I am going for interview next week for Editor's Assistant job with a glossy magazine. Any handy hints on what sort of thing they will be looking for or areas of my experience that I should emphasise? I have lots of admin and secretarial experience.

I did produce a magazine/newsletter for a voluntary organisation 14 years ago - I set up layout, wrote pieces, commissioned articles, ordered photos, dealt with printers, etc etc. But it was all quite amateurish compared to a glossy mag! Do I bring copies of my feeble effort (they are good but not same level). This is the nearest relevant experience I would have.

Any advise would be much appreciated.

What is the job description?

Editor's Assistant might be a purely secretarial position, or it could have other responsibilities. I think you need to stress your experience that is both relevant to the post you are interviewing, and that puts you in the best light, whatever that may be.
