So I'm leaving my job as I am shit at politics and cannot progress. I am bad at ingratiating myself to rude managers and self promotion.

I am starting a new job very soon . Higher pay, better hours, more training. How can I survive and thrive. I hear they have a high turnover so it will be tough.

Sounds as if your confidence is low.
Definitions of whats office politics will differ. To you, it might look like ingratiating behaviour, to others it might it's just 2 colleagues getting on well.
What happened in your previous role, any learnings from there you can take with you?
I'd look dispassionately at what went wrong and be honest with yourself about what you could have done differently. You don't need to be defensive, it's OK to have boundaries and stay true to yourself whilst still being a decent employee (hopefully).

Keep your cool and have a few stock phrases to buy yourself some time if you ever feel threaghtened by a politics type situation where you might say the wrong thing. Phrases like "ok, thanks, I'll think about it".

Thank you for your help. Tbh I have been bullied a lot since I graduated 2 years ago in the 2 different places I have worked.
I do get on with my boss but I am very angry about an incident which compromised my safety.but it wasn't taken seriously. I cannot elaborate on here as it's outing.
It triggered a referral to OH as apoarently I was an " anxious" collegue. I am anxious when my health is compromised yes.
OH were very good in many ways but swept the incident that compromised my safety under the carpet.
I am still fuming now!
So my boss thinks I need councelling and an anxious person.....well tbh I need therapy as I dont feel safe at work!

Thing is...I know my colleagues feel the same and were on my side about the incident and many want to leave for other reasons.

In my first job my safety was compromised too.

I am thinking of working in a different field as safety only seems to apply to service users...not staff!
