How to say go through my boss if you want to give me work?

I'm getting managers from other departments dumping work on me without checking with my boss first to see who in my team has capacity. I'd like to put a note on my Teams status to ask staff to go through my boss if they want to allocate tasks -how should I word this? Many thanks MNetters! 🙏

I would just forward all requests to your manager and let them deal with it

Forward it to your boss and the sender, saying 'I'm forwarding this to my boss who decides who work is allocated to, please contact them directly in future'

Eventually if they keep going through you, your boss will see that the same person/people are repeatedly approaching the wrong person, and do something about it.

Thanks both, that's a good idea, I'll start doing forwarding emails and meeting requests. 👍
