Being made redundant. GP wants to sign me off work. Will that affect future job prospects?

Blood pressure is the through the roof but worried being off sick will look bad when I try to get another job. Particularly as I had a couple of months off last year.

GP says it won't. Is he right?

It depends

As you had 2 months off last year, it could well be a red flag to prospective employers

But, at the end of the day, your health is more important than any job, so if your GP is recommending you are signed off, I would follow their advice

It might to be honest. Most reference checks now include no of sick days and incidences
