Why are law firms full of unpleasant people?

I work at a law firm and it seems that the law attracts unpleasant people. My firm has some lovely, smart, interesting, people. It also has a significant minority of utterly unpleasant people. Usually not smart but driven by material things.

Most work places are like that. The law firm I worked at it was mostly folk having affairs!. Dont know how they fitted in work tbh!.
