I’ve been back to work for two months now from a year off maternity leave. I was only with the company 6 months prior to going on mat leave and worked on one project only. I’ve been approved to work 3 days a week and first two months were slow but all of a sudden feels like my work load is too high and I’m struggling as I’ve had no mentoring since being back. Been out in a project with a new system and my colleague is also new and he expects me to know how to do everything. The thing is I have to spend hours asking around how to use this system and what I need to do. I’ve told my mgt and he said he’d get me the help I need but he’s not really done anything and when I mentioned the work load he just said if I could try to make it work it would be a good opportunity to learn some valuable work experience. I agree with him but now I’ve been off I’ll two days which is 2/3 of a week when you work part time. I had a nasty flu and could barely get out of bed. I feel like I’m so behind on deadlines and stressed. I don’t know what to do. Any advice please?
