Hi advice please
I work Monday Tuesday Wednesday
My daughter was sick a week last Tuesday. I had 2 days off work.
My Dd went back to school on the Friday.
She was sick again on the Sunday and was really poorly again so I was not at work last week.
Now I have the bug but I just don't know what work will say I work at a school and only started there in September.
I am worried but what can I do . Any advice or should I not be worried .

Can I just say I have had alot of replies but what do you do if your 12 year old is ill. No relatives nothing. What parent would leave there child . Warning at work or not you can’t leave a child bring ill

If my child could not be left for this number of days so early in my employment, i'd be profusely apologetic to my employer and offer to make up the days on my non working days. I'd do this so they could recognise i'm not just taking liberties.

I think most employers accept you need to take leave for the first day of a child's illness but after that expect you to arrange emergency cover. you need to read your employer's policy on this if you haven't already.

@Carol52 the quotation marks and highlighted name was because I was quoting another poster not you.

You mentioned being a single parent. You mentioned children. You work three days a week. Unless you are senior management in a school I imagine it's not massively well paid hence my universal credit comment. Sorry if I got it wrong.

Hi thanks for all your replies just to let you know my work were absolutely fine. I had a meeting I with my line manager and her boss I explained I had no support they were very understanding.
i would like to say after reading all you messages I was worried but there are still some decent bosses/ out there
also both ladies agreed 12/13 is still a funny age to leave a child alibe

@Carol52 I am really pleased it turned out well. You would hope schools would be considerate to single parents.
