on the tax credit forms, do i put the amount ive been paid on maternity leave?

or what my pay would have been had i been working?
i'm only going back for 24 hours, and im trying to work out how much tax credit i'll get. im panicking a bit that we'll be in a mess!
so is the aount earned what i usually got paid? or my smp?

I think you put what you actually earned (which could be £0) but subtract £100 for eachh week you received stat mat pay.

right thanks. I just got confused as you take £100 for every week you get smp, so i thought that meant you put what you would have earned. iyswim? god it's so complicated.
so that would actually mean i get more then?

Have you had maternity pay from your employer?

Add up what you have actually been paid.
If you have received 10 wks smp for eg subtract £1000 from the total.

I have rang them in the past and found the helpline fairly helpful if you are still stuck/confused.

My alternative strategy (not recommended) is to stuff the forms in your "to do" pile. That's where mine are.
