Quick quation, can I allow my employer/colleagues to contact me while I'm signed off sick?

I would like them to be able to contact me if they have any problems (unlikely, but possible), as I am at home resting, not in hospital or anything. One of my colleagues has said I can't allow this as it will be construed as harrassment. Are there any hard and fast rules on this?

Can't see why it would be harassment if you have made it clear it's ok.

Here managers are encouraged to keep contact with staff on sick leave, to keep them informed. I don;t think they should be contacting you with 'problems' though. Maybe arrange a weekly/fortnightly phone call just to keep you up to date?

What effie said. I don't think it would be harassment, but I don't think they should be contacting you with problems.

If you are happy to have contact your manager should certainly be keeping in touch anyway, to see how you are, and keep you informed about what's going on if you want to be, but not to ask you things.

Oh GOd, dh's work phone him whenever he is off work - whether he's on holiday or off sick. It drives me bananas and I huff adn puff and make comments like 'this is ANNUAL LEAVE y'know' in the background
