Is it paid or unpaid holiday accrued during maternity leave?

Not sure if the title makes sense.

I have accrued 15 days holiday this year whilst on MAT leave. I due to return next year and am adding it onto the end of my MAT leave. Company are telling me the 15 days are unpaid. I believe they should be paid. Who is correct here?

Paid. I will have approx 6 weeks and using that before I return. They are not allowed to disadvantage you because of maternity leave. Have a look at your work policy plus information online. Rules are clear.

Paid!! How can they say it's unpaid ConfusedWhy would you accrue holidays that aren't paid. It just makes no sense, that would be unpaid absence. They're sneaky bastards

It is paid. Have a google for ACAS and they will have a section telling you your rights on maternity leave. You accrue holiday in the same way you would have if you were in work. If you would have accrued 15 days paid holiday had you not been on maternity, then you are entitled to 15 days paid holiday.

If they refuse to pay you then you have a claim against them for discrimination.

@Younghearts out of curiosity did you work part time before your mat leave or take less than 12 months? The reason for asking is full time statutory minimum for 12 months Mat leave is 5.6 weeks or 28 days including BH.
