Short term low stress job whilst applying for other jobs?

I work in a highly stressful role which I’m looking to change. Because it’s so all consuming I struggle to apply for other stuff and have the head space to do a good application. So I’m considering handing in my notice and going for something low paid low stress to give me time and energy to be applying for stuff. Obviously I’d be upfront that I’m only doing this job temporarily. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance

A temporary job. Nobody is taking you on otherwise

Admin? Christmas temp?

Loads of Christmas temp work - lunchtime waiter or bartender, work in a small private shop - a deli or bookshop (big stores at Christmas are stressful!)

Or do office admin for a temp agency.

I’ve seen shops advertising for Christmas temps - that should give you time to sort out your CV?

Contact centre. Not stress free but may be doable if you know you're only there short term. First few weeks may be training as well. They expect big staff turnovers.

Thank you all, some very useful suggestions I hadn’t thought of!

I would first try taking some annual leave and working on a few applications for jobs you really want to do/will progress your career, before going down the route of taking short term temp work. I’d do that as a last resort only, because it might look a bit odd to future employers if you move into something very different from what you’re doing now.
