Right to time off for pregnancy appointments. Do I have to make up the hours?

Hi, i’m currently pregnant.

do i have to make up the time I missed work for antenatal appointments, or can I still finish at my normal time?

My contract says 35 hours over 5 days between 7am and 7pm. Does this mean I’m obliged to complete my full hours on any day i have an appointment or am I still fine to finish at my normal finishing time (normally 4pm)?

Just wondering as it defeats the purpose of ‘paid time off for antenatal appointments’ If i then have to work the hours missed anyway.

thank you

No, you don't need to make the time up.

No need to make up time

You don’t have to make up the time, but also you should take reasonable time off for the appointments. So at my work if your appointment is 1-2pm for example you’d work before that and then continue to work after until your normal finish time, not take the whole afternoon off.
