What kind of salary increase to negotiate?

Looking for an advice as a woman that feels incapable of negotiating salaries!

I currently work as an EA on £37.5k a year. I have an interview lined up on Friday as an EA elsewhere (a promotion in terms of who I’d report to) and whilst I obviously have no idea how it’s going to go, I’d like to be prepared should I be offered the role.

The banding for this role is £35k - £50k which is a massive range. What would you be comfortable asking for? My DH thinks go in higher than you’d be happy with and land somewhere in the middle. I should add that it’s fully remote so my commute would be nonexistent, which is a benefit alongside salary increase.

However I cringe when I think about asking for that much money - and I know I shouldn’t. I’m an experienced professional and have been in this line of work for 7 years and deserve to be paid for my skills/experience but yeah, hate it.

Any advice welcome!

Go for 50 and be prepared to negotiate down to 47. Prepare reasons why you are worth it. Be confident. Practice.

Yes, £50 as starting expectation / goal.

Are there any differences in package - holiday/pension/perks?
