Do we need PUBLIC LIABILITY insurance? Any recommendations?

Hi, if we are a running a club for pre schoolers and parents are staying. Is it essential? I'm sure its a good idea to get it though.

Also who do we use? So many companies. Which one??

Yes - you need PL insurance if you are doing anything with the public i think. Where I work we need facilitators to have it to the value of £5mill - even if they are just storytelling to children!! Seems OTT but the maximum value of a PL claim was £4.something million apparently. It doesn't cost much, around £150 afaik (although it can depend on how much cash you generate I think). It's a must if you are responsible for kids taking part in any activities you have organised or using any equipment you have supplied.

Thanks, we're on their website now. Do you have the 'group' one or the 'parent and toddler' one? Is it awful to do the quote?

We have the Group one but I dont know what the difference is - just carried on from previous years so dont know that much about getting quotes sorry.

I got a quote from them years ago and I didn't actually have a business at the time it was all on spec for a proposal I was doing for a work place creche. They were very helpful, and quote seemed reasonable.

Thnaks Hopefully ours will be on the mother and toddler group policy which is only £60 a year.
