Hi all, I took a career break as a trailing spouse and I left behind my home country in Asia for my husband’s career. Prior to this, I worked with global companies leading global brands with +10 yrs of experience. Now that my kids are in school full time, I am eager to get back to work in a foreign country, actually my husband's home country and I have 7year gap in my CV, so far all I get is rejection after rejection for every job I applied. Do any one you are in the same situation with success stories to share, perhaps tips or strategies to this kind of situstion. What shoudl i say or put in the gap? I feel like I will be filtered /face bias in my cv due to the gap hence will not even be considered at all. I am currently looking for volunteer jobs, roles that are related to my scope of work/field - marketing, Ive also started doing some online courses hope that could help my cv to at least be considred, I dont know anyone in this country and I dont have any contacts im basically in a foreign foreign countrt where I have to really work xtra xtra hard to be noticed. Any suggestions, welcome! TIA!

I have over a decade of marketing experience in the UK. And I'm struggling to get recruited.

The problem isn't you. The problem is that 200+ people are applying for each role. If you go onto LinkedIn you'll see hundreds more applicants per role.

Find a charity to volunteer your social media skills with. Start an insta account about your life in the UK and start blogging.
