Wow! Part-time working is fun!

After many years as a full time worker, followed by a botched attempt at resigning, I am now working part-time.

3 days in the office and 1 day at home and 12 weeks holiday a year. My mum has been ill recently so all my 'days off' have been used up flying up to Scotland, so today was my first proper day off!

It was fab! Dropped the children off at school, went to Borders for a coffee and to pick up some holiday books, off to TK Maxx to pick up last minute ski stuff, M&S for sports bras (for skiing) then home to lovely clean house (cleaner had been in today). Sat with a cup of coffee until nanny brought the children home from school, helped with homework and spent an hour or so on here while she fed them, and have just despatched her off home early and am bumming around on here while children play!

And I missed the Monday morning blues too

I know this is a smugtastic post, but humour me - it has been a long time coming

Wow - what job do you do?!

donbean · 05/02/2008 09:48

Good grief, are you a princess? Or royal in some way?
you sound very posh, am very jealous, i have no posh royal friends so i am going to claim you as my posh royal princess friend.

Iota · 05/02/2008 09:49

good for you

you should post that on this thread

donbean · 05/02/2008 09:56

lol, part time princess
i dont even know any one who has a cleaner, let alone a nanny.
would you mind bieng my posh princess pal soap box?
im so so common.
part time is good, i like it. i can get so much done and dont feel overwhelmed by just having 2 days off and tons to do. Every thing full time was such a rush and putting things off and cramming. So stressful tbh.
Im not sure that even if i could, i would go full time again, it would kill me.

Working part time with a cleaner and a nanny sounds fantastic. I'm just missing the last two.....

ah, just looked on your profile page soapy, those cards are just wonderful, and your children (my ds's new best posh royal friends) are gorgeous.
You are a very very lucky lady.
