I need to provide a public indemnity insurance certificate each year to my empolyer, it will never be used so where's the cheapest place to get the cover please?

Do you mean public liability or professional indemnity or both? I assume when you say employer you are actually contracting to them.

Don't be so sure it will never be used. I would contact a broker and get a few quotes.

Sorry, yes Professional Indemnity insurance.

And yes I contract, but I'm and administrator, it really won't ever be claimed against.

Why do you need to get it, pay for it? Why doesn't your employer?

I am self employed, so I have both PI and PL as of necessity. As an employee I wouldn't expect to have to pay to cover myself!

But, assuming you are self employed, a virtual assistant or similar, I'd recommend Hiscox. They seem to have a much better understanding of out of the ordinary self employed jobs than many others.

If you make a decision, or advise the person who you are contracting for badly and it goes tits up, they will claim off you. I've seen it loads of times.
