New job niggles

I am 3 months into a new role, I have so far enjoyed it, but find that one of my managers is reluctant to handover work. One of my colleagues mentioned that he is a bit of a control freak and needs to see that he can trust me, so how can I conquer this? It makes me feel slightly nervous and I almost doubt myself in many respects. I have done everything that has been asked of me. We are a growing team and I am keen to have a role and a purpose, and do more but I also need to have the scope to do my job. Any advice would be appreciated.

Talking? Don't depend on gossip from colleagues, even if true. Talk to your manager about how you are doing, how you might help them more, and if there are areas they think you could improve. Trust is generated through communication, not gossip.
