Hi šŸ‘‹!

I really struggle with work and I wondered, are there jobs that work best for those with severe anxiety? I’m mid thirties, have always had a job but I find it so difficult. I work because I have to but I’m so unhappy. There must be jobs out there that I can enjoy, even with anxiety? Thanks for your help ā¤ļø

Hm. I think this is a tricky question!

I would suggest something with low responsibility and low customer-interaction

I hear publishing jobs are easy and relaxing but unfortunately they also pay like crap and are mostly posh people recruiting other posh people.

What makes you anxious?

Is it customers, colleagues, deadlines, responsibility, expectations...?

Would you be happier wfh with minimal contact with colleagues, or to be part of a team?

What jobs have you done? What skills do you have?

Its a variety of things that make me anxious - People, being away from home, being late to work, being late leaving work, expectations at work, I often feel like I’m not doing enough, I need to work harder or I’m doing a bad job. I have a law degree but I graduated 10 years ago, I didn’t have the confidence to peruse it and my confidence is even less now. On the outside people would say I’m very confident, chatty, bubbly and I’m the go to person but inside truthfully I feel really low, I feel like I’ve failed and I’m not happy. I just find it all a juggle too, my husband works in emergency services I’m often on my own, I have a 3 year old, I start at 7am and finish around 4.30pm then it’s rush into mum mode. I like a job working from home as it suits me better but the only thing I like about my job at the moment is that I can work from home. I work for the local government in an admin role. It’s a safe bet but it’s not enough for me but I worry anything more will be too much? I just need to find my passion in something … something that can generate income and something from home…
