Any advice? I’m in a contract role have a horrible boss as in micro managing, zero people skills. I’ve posted before I get a email if I don’t reply that instant he’s on Teams within a minute literally and phoning it’s v irritating. Anyway my contract is due to finish end of this month however due to the Xmas break etc it will be in less than 2 weeks time. I can’t get an answer from said boss if they want me to return in January or not...a simple yes or no. I think he’s playing games as he’s a nasty piece of work. Just want to know where I stand ...do I cut my losses and just say by the way am off or wait till he decides to give an answer. Am too long in the tooth for his nonsense ...

If your contract ends and there has been no discussion about extension then no you do not return in January, I am not sure why you need this spelling out to you. Contract ends - you finish. Confused

Sounds like a horrible environment so I wouldn’t be chasing up an extension anyway.

Communication is so poor at September it was last minute oh can you stay...its all done haphazard and no forward thinking...
it is a horrible environment so I think your are right ...start afresh in new year
and if they do ask me now I’ll decline as it’s no way to treat anyone ...😛

Just say nothing and don’t turn up in January. If they contact you asking why your not there. Reply to them and copy in their boss and maybe a director of the firm saying you never told me you wanted me there.
