Recruitment company fee for an office based consultancy role circa 40-50000

Can anyone tell me about how much their company pays in recruitment fees for a role with a salary of between 40 and 50,000. It is a junior consultancy type role.

I want to compare it against what my DH has been quoted by a new company he hasn't worked with before. Thank you.

Anything from 10-20% of base salary

If it's a specialist retained search firm then 20% absolute minimum- probably 25%

If it's a contingent firm then a decent one will charge around 20%. 15-20%.

I would not work for below 15%. It's not worth my time any more. And the lower your fee, the lower your rebate period will be!

You will get some quoting lower but you're not likely to secure much of their time and the market, in most sectors is job heavy & candidate shy!

He was quoted 30%!! Thank you.

It's high but see what they will do for that. If they're going to longlist, shortlist, benchmark, psycho test, get involved in the interviews and do a full board style search job, then its about right.

If they advertise & hope, he they won't find anyone and he won't pay it anyway 🤣
