Hi,

I have been made a provisional offer for the Home Office. I have submitted the National Security Vetting. Any idea how long the checks will take. I had my interview in August and really looking forward to start!

Thanks xx

Can take six months from offer to starting. Security checks can take several months and the number/level will vary according to the role.

Thank you. Such a long wait!

Iirc the initial security checks were stated as taking 40 ish working days, which proved pretty accurate.

Mine was 10 December and have not heard back however I decided to withdraw due to distance. Been offered work in London which is 300+ miles. I received a confirmation yesterday that the work is based in 2 places and I am required to attend. So good luck

Mine took a little less than 2 mo

Hi,

ive got a provisional offer for an EO role at HO. I got the offer on 3rd feb, however I’m transferring from another government department. I emailed the vacancy holder today to ask whether they could give me a rough indication of when the job would start and the lady replied asking what date I submitted the ‘long application form’? I’m not aware of any forms. All I was asked to do on the provisional email was to accept the offer in 7 working days then send 2 payslips and 3 forms of Id. Can anyone help me with what form the recruitment person is referring to?

Hi I know you've not posted on this for a while but did you get an email asking for you current line managers details ? Currently the same situation I'm cs and got an offer from HO but the emails they ask for are so strange hope you can help me

Americansmoothy · 26/10/2024 13:33

@Stace102 if you are an internal transfer there are different forms which in theory should make your transfer easier. Part of the process will be for your current and new line managers to liaise over your transfer date.
